This auction is for a signed concept art print from Return of the Jedi, by Star Wars alumni Joe Johnston. Includes hand-painted “Engine Glow” not available in the original print and a separate handwritten note describing the piece. See auction images. First image is the item buyer will receive, second photo is the original (pre-painted) print — taken in different lighting.
Print measures 6 inches by 12 inches and was kindly donated to us by Joe Johnston. Actual item does not contain watermark shown in auction image.
Joe Johnston is a legendary Director, Writer, and Visual Effects Artist who is well known and revered in the Star Wars fan community, as well as by his professional colleagues. His contributions to the Star Wars universe started as a Visual Effects Artist on Star Wars Episodes 4, then went on to become Art Director for Episodes 5 and 6. He was also the Production designer for Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. He was a Screenwriter and Design Consultant for the series Star Wars: Droids – The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO. As a Director, Mr. Johnston has created successes such as Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, The Rocketeer, Jumanji, October Sky and Jurassic Park III. He also directed and served as Executive Producer on Captain America: The First Avenger.
